This walking tour and photograph workshop is designed to push creative boundaries, encourage self-expression, and uncover the hidden narratives woven into the fabric of La Serenissima. • Black-and-white photography strips away distractions, allowing you to focus on texture, contrast, and emotion. This fresh approach invites you to reimagine Venice beyond its postcard-perfect image. • Capture famous landmarks and lesser-known treasures—from the grandeur of Piazza San Marco to the quiet charm of forgotten alleyways—that reveal the city’s character in unexpected ways. • Take time to photograph the stunning four-bridge alignment at Ponte del Remedio, an uncommon angle of the Bridge of Sighs from Ponte della Canonica, and breathtaking views from Ponte della Paglia toward San Giorgio Maggiore, among others. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, I’ll help you refine your camera settings, experiment with composition, and master techniques like adjusting aperture and shutter speed to transform your shots. You’ll leave having documented a unique blend of Venice’s past and present, layering your personal perspective onto centuries of history.
Step into a historic Venetian salon for a two-hour workshop where you’ll master the art of crafting a delicate paper flower, inspired by Venice’s rich flora, fine art, and the city’s famous paintings. • To start (and to get inspired), we’ll explore the stunning halls of my family’s palazzo, adorned with old paintings and period furniture. It offers a unique glimpse into the city’s aristocratic charm and sets the perfect scene for our creative experience. • Learn step-by-step techniques for shaping petals, leaves, and stems, using pre-dyed paper and natural colors like beetroot and coffee. I’ll guide and advise you, ensuring you feel confident and accomplished throughout the process. • Leave with a beautifully crafted flower, carefully packaged for safe travel, and a guide to continue your creative journey at home. Whether you’re drawn to the city’s timeless beauty or eager to learn a new skill, this workshop is a chance to immerse yourself in Venetian craftsmanship, explore the beauty of natural dyes, and create a lasting memento.
Visitors to Murano, the “glass islands” in the Venetian Lagoon, often arrive with a preconceived idea of glass. But I want to show you how it can be entirely different from what you expect. We’ll explore glass as a medium for critical reflection, irreverent humor, and innovation. • I’ll show you around the gallery where I display my glass jewelry and sculptures, and discuss the long history of the glassmaking craft on Murano. • Head back to my workshop, where I’ll demonstrate how I transform solid glass into liquid and shape it into a wearable art piece. • Share a glass of wine or a cup of coffee afterward, and I’ll answer your questions and offer my thoughts on contemporary glass in Murano. If you wish to purchase any jewelry, you’ll receive a 10 percent discount during your visit.
This experience is the ultimate combination of culture, flavor, and mystery—all wrapped into one unforgettable tour! Uncover the legends of Cannaregio, the most authentic and vibrant Venetian's district, on an interactive tour and tasting. • Meet at the picturesque square Campo Santa Sofia and wander through hidden parts of Venice, discovering secret views and exploring the places where locals live. Along the way, I’ll share legends of ghosts, witches, and folklore. • Stroll the Fondamenta dei Ormesini, a lively canalside promenade, to experience the city like true Venetians. At three bacari (traditional bars), enjoy different cicchetti (small bites unique to Venice—but don’t call them tapas!) paired with local wines and the iconic Venetian spritz accompanied by my explanation as a certified sommelier. • Visit historic locations including a mysterious 12th-century palace, a Gothic church known for its Tintoretto artwork, and the Jewish Ghetto - the world’s first ghetto dated 1516. Behind every corner, there’s a legend; behind every bite, there's a story; and behind every glass of wine... a person who drinks it!
Welcome to Fallani Venezia, the workshop my father opened in the 1960s, which now serves as a hub for local and international artists to experiment with the age-old printing technique of serigraphy, or screen printing. • We’ll begin with a tour of the workshop and its history, and dive into the craft of artistic serigraphy. • I’ll walk you through the entire screen-printing process, from preparing the screen and mixing colors to transferring the image and drying the final print. • Roll up your sleeves and put your inner artist to work! You’ll create your own two-color print on two different colored papers. The Venice-inspired design you’ll print is created exclusively for our workshop by Anita, a local illustrator. When our day of artistic expression is done, I’ll mark the prints with our workshop’s embossing stamp as a memento of your time with us.
Step aboard Venice’s last surviving vintage wooden postal boat from the 1950s, a masterpiece of maritime history, and journey through the Venetian Lagoon’s less-traveled waterways. • I’ll share stories of the city’s history, show you breathtaking scenery, and invite you to witness hidden gems and family traditions. • Glide through peaceful, secluded channels, passing iconic landmarks like Murano’s famed glass blowing workshops and Mazzorbo’s serene vineyards. • Immerse yourself in charming Burano, where you’ll stop for an exclusive lace-making demonstration by my 81-year-old great aunt and savor freshly baked Bussolà pastries, lovingly prepared by her sister. On the way back, the magnificence of St. Mark’s Square will unfold like a cinematic moment, a perfect finale to a journey that captures the essence of Venice’s renowned beauty.
Explore Venice’s vintage hand-lettered signs and typographical history on a walk with a calligrapher and graphic designer, learning about a rich local tradition that dates back to figures like the 15th-century printer Aldus Manutius. • I’ll guide you to some of the city’s most enduring businesses, each displaying a hand-decorated sign infused with its own history. • See the names of delicatessens, cafes, and cocktail bars beautifully rendered in wood, wrought iron, and reverse-painted glass, and hear about the craftsmen behind the work. • At each stop, discuss the sign’s typographic style, techniques, and materials. I’ll show you how to look for hidden details cherished by locals. You’ll leave with an eye for typographic details and the stories they represent, as well as a card featuring a lettering composition inspired by the designs we’ve seen.
See, paint, and live Venice one brushstroke at a time in this en plein air colour therapy workshop, where you’ll learn to paint city scenes with a watercolour artist. • Meet at my gallery, Vert de Venise, and explore the pigments that define the Venetian spirit. I’ll explain how to mix colors, revealing the subtle differences between lagoon green and canal blue. • Palettes at the ready, step outside to paint by the canal, capturing the play of light and water that makes Venice so magical. I’ll recommend the colour techniques of great masters to incorporate into your work. • Finally, share and discuss your artworks in the hidden noble garden of Ca’ Rezzonico and appreciate your creations. I’ll provide personalized feedback and insights. You’ll leave with your own Venetian artwork and a new appreciation for the city’s colour palette.
